title . This awesome vintage t-shirt is a keepsake from the Sea Cliff hotel resort on Water Island which is a part of the US Virgin Islands. Water Island is a small residential island with less than 200 permanent residents. The first hotel on the island, the Water Island Hotel, opened in the 50s and it was eventually renamed the Sea Cliff Resort. Unfortunately, the Sea Cliff was destroyed in 1989 by Hurricane Hugo and was not rebuilt. There are plans to build another 5-star hotel and resort on the spot where the Sea Cliff once stood.

It included the singer’s most famous hit single, “Goody Two Shoes”, and also helped to introduce Adam Ant to the American market. Ant embarked on a US tour in support of the album, but several dates had to be canceled and the tour was postponed, after he sustained a knee injury during a show in Cleveland, Ohio. During this break, Ant began working on his next solo album Strip.

Although this shirt isn’t a heat transfer graphic, Roach was often referred to as the king of the iron-on shirt. The brand was founded by two brothers who got their start airbrushing tees with images of hot rods and dragsters. Before long, they were selling their shirts through mail order and eventually in brick and mortar locations. Part of Roach’s success could be attributed to the awesome artists they commissioned work from including the likes of Robert Crumb, David Mann, and Robert Williams.

The Mid-Atlantic’s fall foliage peaks around the end of October so this festival may have been held around that time.This rad shirt commemorates the Immaculate Heart of Mary Tigers and their 1990 appearance in the Illinois State Basketball Tourney. IHM High was an all-girls Catholic school founded in 1960 to address the educational needs of a growing population. The IHM Tigers basketball program was led by coach David Power through the 80s and early 90s and he led the team to several regional championships, including the 1990-1991 title.

title . This sweet double-sided concert tee is for the English new wave singer Adam Ant. The shirt was made in the early 80s for a promotional tour for his album Friend or Foe, which was Ant’s debut solo album after departing from his band Adam and the Ants. Adam and the Ants were active from 1977 to 1982, although the original lineup of the band was eventually formed into the group Bow Wow Wow. Ant had hired Malcolm McLaren, the producer responsible for both the Sex Pistols and the New York Dolls, only for McLaren to swipe the singer’s backing band for this new group. Adam Ant formed a new backing band and put out one final album before deciding to go solo.

title . The group chose to retire from touring in the mid 70s. They were discouraged when their latest release, Northern Lights- Southern Cross, didn’t have much commercial success, and also by a serious neck injury sustained by pianist and vocalist Richard Manuel. Their farewell concert, dubbed The Last Waltz, turned out to be a major Thanksgiving event. An audience of 5,000 was served a turkey dinner at the Winterland Ballroom in November of 1976, and The Band was supported by an impressive list of guest musicians. Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan, who were integral parts of the group’s history, both made appearances, and other guest performers included Van Morrison, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Dr. John, Muddy Waters, Ron Wood, Neil Diamond, Bobby Charles, and Paul Butterfield.

title . The Last Waltz wasn’t just intended to be a concert, but was crafted to be more of a celebration, paying tribute to The Band’s many years of live performances. The various guest musicians were all people who had influenced the group over the years, and the Winterland Ballroom was aptly chosen as the venue, as it had been where The Band made their debut as a group back in 1969. The group’s tour manager, Jonathan Taplin, pitched the idea of having Martin Scorsese direct the concert film. The director had a notable love of music, and had worked on the 1970 documentary Woodstock, and he eagerly accepted the job.
