A fan who was close to the stage captured the interaction and posted it to TikTok. In the footage, Adam seems slightly shocked that someone grabbed him. He then mouths the word, “f-ck!” while shaking off the interaction. In footage captured by Barry King (and posted to YouTube), Adam walks across the stage and knocks over a mic stand, slightly frustrated at the interruption (about four minutes in.) However, he quickly runs to the opposite side of the stage to finish the song.

Reaction to the interaction was mixed. “He needs to sit down and be humble for a sec,” wrote one fan on TikTok. “He doesn’t have to be humbled,” argued another, adding, “A random person invaded his personal space during a pandemic.” “Bruh, he was literally doing his damn JOB, and a strange came up and touched him. He didn’t overreact at all,” said another. “He should act like that with all his money, cars, and houses that [were] given to him by FANS.” The We Can Survive concert also had performances by Shawn Mendes, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Doja Cat, and The Kid LAROI. No word if any of them had similar fan experiences.

This fan glomping comes a few months after Adam had another concert faux pas, but he had only himself to blame for this one. While the band was performing at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater in Milwaukee on Aug. 19, Adam got about halfway through “She Will Be Loved” before mistakenly singing the second verse before the first. “I f-cked up!” he said to the crowd while stopping the song. “I have never done that before. In twenty f-cking years that I’ve been singing that song… I have not one time f-cked that up,” he said, astonished. Adam then said that he didn’t “need to admit it” because the audience “came with me on the journey.”

Lola Blanc Shares How Directing New‘Here Come The Wolves’ Music Video‘Terrified Me’

We find Lola Blanc dressed in white and bound at the start of “Here Come The Wolves,” the new music video from the multi-hyphenate, out today (Oct. 26). A piercing through the back of her neck – Ouch! – holds her in place as a man in red approaches her. Five onlookers, also dressed in crimson attire, watch, hungrily taking in the action. As the man in red produces a dagger, about to offer this sacrifice to the slaughter, Lola fights back. In a bloody turn of the tables, the wolves find themselves the prey of the lamb. It’s a bloody battle with a shocking revelation at the end – because all horror movies need a twist.

The visual is a perfect companion piece to the song. “Here Come The Wolves” is a moody, atmospheric song. With Hitchcockian strings and a creeping beat, like a serial killer stalking its next victim, “Wolves” runs its spiritual fingers up and down your spine. “My vision has been distorting,” she sings in a voice that is equally alluring and discomforting, a seductive cadence that alerts you to the danger – but you still take that step forward into that welcoming maw. “I feel my DNA transforming / Every time I go out in the night / When you think your wounds are greater / A victim can be perpetrator / Doеs the name of justice justify?

Lola herself directed the video, and it’s an experience she’ll never forget. “I’ve directed myself in short films before,” Lola shares with HollywoodLife, “but this was the first time I’ve been the sole director of one of my own music videos—which was a real task, considering it was also the first time I’d dealt with fight choreography, both as a director and as a performer. And of course, basically everything that could go wrong in preproduction did, so there were quite a few challenges at once going into the shoot. But overly ambitious projects are kind of my thing!”

“I like to jump in feet first and just figure it out as I go,” she adds, “even if there’s a small nervous breakdown on the other end of it. I thrive on the terror. This one definitely terrified me, but ultimately I’m proud of it, and it was totally worth it.”

It’s hard to put Lola in one box – and one would think she prefers it that way. As a songwriter, she’s worked behind the scenes with some of your favorite artists, most notably co-writing Britney Spears’s “Ooh La La.” She’s appeared in front of the camera on American Horror Story: Hotel and Life In Pieces. Musically, she began paving her path as an artist-to-know in 2016 with “Don’t Say You Do.” Since then, she’s experienced success, most notably with “Angry Too,” a song written at the height of the #MeToo movement that has since amassed over 24 million streams. Surfbort’s New Album ‘Keep On Truckin’ Is APunk Declaration Of How ‘We’re All In ThisTogether’

Surfbort is cool. The punk band – born in Brooklyn, now residing in LA — is so damn cool, they released their new album, Keep On Truckin’, on a Monday instead of the usual Friday, ensuring everyone’s week fpwould start on a good note. Now, that might not be the first impression you get since the album opens with singer Dani Miller sweetly opining about ending it all. “FML / I wanna kill myself / I didn’t get / the things I wanted,” she croons on “FML,” before the band – guitarists Matt Picola and Alex Kilgore, bassist Nick Arnold, and drummer Sean Powell – kick in with a blistering explosion of sound. It matches the song’s message of just how frustrating the simple act of being alive could be.

“I think because things get so dark and weird, like we kind of hit like nihilism almost like, ‘Ah, everything seems meaningless,’” says Dani as the band discusses their new album with HollywoodLife. “But then it’s like, ‘wait.’ It’s just all these different levels. It’s like, ‘Oh, we’re in this together still, let’s freaking dance and party and be there for each other.’” It was Sean who brought the words to “FML” to the group during the height of the pandemic, an apparent reaction to the dumpster fire that was 2020.

“Sean made us keep writing in the house,” says Matt. “We’re writing in the house, like during the bleakest of like time, during riots, during an emerging pandemic, and we were writing and recording in the house.”

“I think that’s just like such a classic feeling that we wanted to convey,” adds Dani. “It’s natural to feel suicidal. And we want to let you know you shouldn’t feel alone in that feeling. It’s possible to make it through that feeling. And actually, the beginning of the song is a voice recording that my mom’s saved since I was 15 of me getting arrested and puking on the cops, at the beginning of my alcohol and drug addiction.”

“And it’s all just so connected,” she says, “addiction leads your mental health being so gnarly and in such depressive, dark states. Then just adding the vibes of apocalypse on top of all of that, I think it’s just all so connected. So certain things didn’t come directly from COVID, but I think it’s the perfect time for this to come out because there are so many more people dying from not even just drugs but feeling suicidal.”

There probably isn’t a single word in the English language that describes this feeling that Surfbort captures on Keep On Truckin’. It’s like smiling with a fat lip or winking with a black eye or laughing with a set of bruised ribs. The spirit of perseverance, finding some semblance of happiness after taking a mental/spiritual/literal beating. This theme throughout Keep On Truckin’: from the album’s title to “Life’s A Joke” (“Nothing’s going my way today, but it’s okay”) to the closer, “Cheap Glue,” a mid-tempo song that sees Dani vow to do “anything to help you find a solution” to a friend’s broken heart.

Perhaps the highpoint of Keep On Truckin’s punk rock camaraderie is “Open Your Eyes.” Written by Matt, it begins with the sentiment of a motivational poster, reassuring the listener that “things will be good someday / can’t wait for the holiday / happiness is on its way / all right.” Yet, right as things threaten to get too saccharine, the song delivers perhaps one of the best lines in the album: “We hate it here, but here we are.”

In eight words, Surfbort refutes toxic positivity while also eschewing nihilism. They allow the listener to acknowledge that sometimes, life is shit, but that doesn’t mean you can quit. With “Open Your Eyes,” Matt says he reacted to Alex and Dani and Sean’s positivity with the song. “I brought ‘Open Your Eyes,’ and that was like almost sarcastic tongue-in-cheek, that it sounds positive. And then it’s about like a corpse opening its eyes or someone who got beat up in the gutter, opening its eyes. And then, they make it more positive than other bands would be afraid to even be. I would be afraid to even be as positive as a lot of the sort of Surfbort songs that I’ve liked so much, and I’m learning how to be more sincere and less guarded and sarcastic.”

“I added the part where it’s like, ‘you don’t feel the same way as you did yesterday,’” says Dani. “And it’s just like, if you’re depressed or sad or hateful, you don’t have to feel that way every day. You don’t feel that same way. Or like, even to someone who was racist, it’s like, ‘you don’t have to feel that way, dude.’ Wake the f-ck up. And then like the course is like, it does feel like almost like, is this a joke? ‘Can’t wait for the holiday.’ No – I can’t wait for the holiday. There’s going to be better times.”

So, Surfbort is cool. But, how cool? Surfbort is so cool, Linda Perry produced their album. You might remember Linda from 4 Non Blondes‘ “What’s Going On,” but since then, she has gone on to a legendary songwriting and production career. Christina Aguilera (“Beautiful”), Pink (“Get The Party Started”) Adele (“Can’t Let Go”) and Gwen Stefani (“What You Waiting For?”) have all worked with Linda, and in 2015, she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

“Linking with Linda for the album was a dream come true because we’re used to like recording all the songs in a day or two,” says Dani. “That was a month,” adds Alex, “not the whole recording, but we had practice, which was great. It was such a cool process. It was a luxury. She blocked off three weeks, and we’ve never had anything — we’ve had like, three days was the most, like the last record. I think we had three days of tracking, which is just like grind, grind, grind.” Instead, the band took its time, dedicating a week for guitar, a week for drums, a week for bass, and a couple of weeks for vocals.

Linda also had a hand in some pre-production work. Take “FML,” for example. Dani says that when the band brought the song to Linda, it was “just bare-bones, a fast punk song for a minute.” These are the kind of songs that make up Surfbort’s discography. Their 2018 album, Friendship Music, is roughly the same length as Keep On Truckin’ (approximately 31 minutes, give or take.) While Truckin’ has a dozen tracks, Friendship has seventeen, the longest being “Selfie” at 2:26. With “FML” – which is 2:49, FYI – Linda “extended it into more of a romantic ballad,” says Dani, “but kept the spirit in there of like freak-a-zoid punk style. So it was like a cool combination and development that she added.”

Truckin’ contains Surfbort’s longest song, “Hollywood Trashpile,” at 3:42. Though, remarking about a sub-four-minute song’s length invokes Mike Watt’s reaction to the Minutemen’s “The Anchor” in We Jam Econo. (“2:30? It’s our opus.”) Surfbort’s opus captures the delirium (“I’m the main character”) and disillusionment (“My fantasy of you is stronger in the daytime”) with the City of Angels.

“When that first came in from the practice space,” says Nick, “it was kind of a brief, barn-burning song that just took off and didn’t have a lot of ebb and flow, but when Linda heard it, she thought of it in a different context. It’s like a more lush, slower thing like Dani was carrying the verse and then exploded in the chorus. So to have someone outside our bubble kind of observe what we have come up with [was cool].”

“She had beat us down and made us be quiet and create more space for them to do whatever she wanted,” says Matt, with a smile. “She’d be like, ‘you all need to like shut up during this part.’” With Linda’s direction, the band allowed itself to have more space and take more time, which was an unintentional godsend. Dani admitted that she felt like she might have to start a new project outside of Surfbort – one where she could “to be more vulnerable and like singer-songwriter and scream my diary entries,” she says, “but Surfbort’s my life.” Linda’s guidance showed that Surfbort could contain multitudes and contradictions and no limits.

“I can just still be myself,” she says. “And I think the dualism of that is sick. It’s like, okay, you can be glam, pop, crying, vulnerable, but also be like still freak, hard, punk, screaming on the streets. You don’t have to be perfectly polished.”

“I was so grateful that got unleashed, personally,” says Alex. “Because I grew up in the punk rock scene, and I jettisoned that of it in the late eighties. I was like, ‘This is done. It’s cookie-cutter.’ But then, when I started playing with this band, it was just so fun to play stuff like that, but in not an angry way. It was in like a love, celebration, ‘blast the roof off’ kind-of-sparkle dust way. But, also — just to be able to slow things down a little bit and make things more melodic. And it’s cool.”

“I was really grateful that someone with her background and experience related and saw someone like us as someone she could connect to because her story is not typical at all. She fought early on to break out of what people were telling her to do,” says Nick. “But time and time again, she kind of showed that she had great instincts. And so for her to approach us and say, ‘I relate to what you do’ is endearing.”

So, Surfbort is cool. They have Linda Perry’s stamp of approval. They were part of Gucci’s debut beauty collection, which celebrated Dani’s trademark teeth (and saw her mouth plastered on the side of buildings in Los Angeles.) So, they’re cool, but how cool, really? They’re so cool, they have Fred Armisen in their video to “FML,” portraying a problem-solving magician who ultimately takes over the band and rocks Dani’s trademark eye-makeup and multi-color hair.

They also teamed with social media impresario Sean Barrett (“I connected with him on TikTok,” says Dani, “We both in LA and I was like, ‘dude, let’s make stuff’”) for the first cut from Keep On Truckin’, “White Claw Enema Bong.” Oh, Surfbort is showing growth and positivity on their new album, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for taking down the billionaire space race (“Dicks In Space”), GMOs and junk food (“Killed By Food”), and being a drunk idiot (“White Claw Enema Bong”). Surfbort is even cool enough to poke fun at their increasing fame and success in the video for “Big Star,” holding a mock press conference as Surfbort-mania takes over the world.

Would that be so bad, though? Keep On Truckin’ is one of the most enjoyable albums of the year. It’s not just a great punk album, it’s a great album — period — and its appearance on any “Best Of” lists at the end of the year shouldn’t surprise anyone. The album has attitude. It has sex appeal. It has heart. It has sleaze and glamour and joy and pain. It shows Surfbort believing in itself, believing in its talent and strengths. The band expands its sonic wings to reach unthinkable heights. Keep On Truckin’ celebrates the beauty of a neon green smiley face spray-painted on the concrete. It’s punk. It’s cool.

“We’re also recovering and like learning from the crazy past and just that message of like, ‘you can be a good person, even when you have crazy traumas, or you’ve been through the craziest shit or struggle with addiction,’” says Dani. “Like in the end, there’re better days. You can make it through to the better days. You can keep on trucking to really magical times.”

“That’s a very common theme throughout,” she continues, before bringing up a line in the penultimate track, “Never Nude”: “If you don’t have a lover, it’s okay. Everything’s shit, please don’t quit today.” Dani smiles. “I feel like society is like, ‘you need to have like a perfect spouse, and then your life will be good. That’s just trying to find the love of someone else, and that just doesn’t always work. It’s not realistic. And I just wanted to like send that message to people that you can be alone and be okay — and have a good time.” And if you don’t want to be alone? Surfbort will welcome you to their party, whether you’re queer, straight, male, female, trans, or whatever. They’re cool like that.

Phish fan dies after falling during concert at Chase Center in San Francisco

A man fell to his death after plummeting from an upper level of the Chase Center during a Phish concert on Sunday night.

The jam band was playing its final of three shows in a row at the venue when officials were alerted of a person in need of medical attention, possibly due to a fall around 8:55 p.m. on Sunday night, San Francisco Police told KQED.

He was declared dead at the scene.

“Medics arrived and immediately provided medical treatment, but despite the efforts of the emergency responders the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased,” Officer Robert Rueca told the outlet in an email.

The exact cause of death is being investigated by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, but foul play is not expected, police said.

The decedent’s name has not been made public.

Less than an hour later at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to another report of a man who had fallen, injuring both himself and another man he landed on. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police told KQED.

“I think we’re still in shock. It was pretty intense,” Erika Munsch, who was four rows away from where the victim died, told NBC Bay Area. “There was no movement. The fact that they did CPR so quickly was a sign that, like, it wasn’t good.”

“I can’t get the image out of my mind,” the stunned Phish fan said.

Police said the investigation and the causes of these falls have not been determined at this time.

Chase Center released a statement saying, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s loved ones,” Chase Center said, according to NBC Bay Area. “We are working with local authorities to determine exactly what happened.”

The band has not yet made a statement on the incident.

System of a Down Perform ‘Protect The Land’ + ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’ Live for the First Time

System of a Down performed two songs live for the first time during their October 15 concert at the T-Mobile Arena in Los Vegas, Nevada: “Protect The Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz.” You can check out the footage from a fan and the full set list from the concert (via setlist.fm) below.

The tracks are inspired by the conflict between Artsakh and Azerbaijan. All proceeds support humanitarian efforts in Armenia, the ancestral homeland of System of a Down. They have raised a total of over $600,000 per an update issued in November of last year.

“Honestly, I’m extremely proud of us getting together for our people and the cause, at a time where Azerbaijan and Turkey not only attacked Armenians in Artsakh with military equipment, but they also attacked the Armenian nation with disinformation around the world, using caviar diplomacy over the years,” singer Serj Tankian said in an interview with Consequence of Sound earlier this year.

“Azerbaijan bought off a lot of politicians and they tried to create false parody in journalism and in the media — and it succeeded for a little while. So, I’m proud to say that our songs coming out, especially the video for ‘Protect The Land’, really kind of bit into that all in one day — just kind of boom, let the world know that these are people living on their own indigenous land, they’re being attacked, they’re trying to protect their families, and they’re dying because you got the second largest NATO ally Turkey basically attacking them along with Azerbaijan — both dictatorships attacking a democratic, progressive, first Christian nation society,” he continued.

The fundraising section of video for “Protect the Land” explains, “The current corrupt regimes of Aliyev in Azerbaijan and Erdogan in Turkey not only want to claim Artsakh and Armenia as their own, but are committing genocidal acts with impunity on humanity & wildlife to achieve their mission. They are banking on the world being too distracted to call out their atrocities. We’re here to protect our land, to protect our culture, & to protect our nation.”

The Los Angeles band have only been able to release these two songs since ending their hiatus in 2011, making them their first releases in 15 years.

“I’m really proud of the work that we’ve done with System of a Down, and it does give me hope that one day we might be able to get it together and do something again together, Tankian says. “I think we were able to do it because we were able to put aside our philosophies and our creative differences even, and just go, ‘Who’s got a song that’ll work?,’ because at this point it’s just a weapon for truth and not about us. And it worked,” Tankian also said in that same Consequence of Sound interview.

Black Metal Contributor + Pagan Musician Andrea Meyer Slain in Norwegian Bow Attack Killing Spree

Andrea Meyer, who guested on albums by black metal icons Cradle of Filth and Satyricon and released Pagan ambient folk music under Hagalaz’ Rundedance and Nebelhexë, was reportedly one of the five people killed in a bow and arrow attack in Kongsberg, Norway last week.

Espen Anderson Braathen, a 37-year-old Danish citizen, was arrested after opening fire in a supermarket, shooting arrows at shoppers before taking to the streets of a nearby neighborhood where the violence continued as Braathen targeted people on the street and in apartments, as reported by the Associated Press.

A total of five people were killed and an additional three were injured in the attack where Braathen is suspected of having used three weapons. Among the victims was Meyer, a 52-year-old German-born musician, actress, writer and model who was also the former wife of Emperor guitarist Tomas ‘Samoth’ Haugen, with whom she shared a daughter, Alva.

Meyer contributed vocals on Cradle of Filth’s 1994 debut album, The Principle of Evil Made Flesh and was featured as the spoken word artist on “The Dawn of a New Age,” the opening track on Satyricon’s landmark 1996 record, Nemesis Divina.

“Andrea guested on our debut album The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh and also modelled [sic] and danced for us onstage as well as presiding over ritual back in our formative years. ⁣She will be sadly missed and our deep felt love and sympathies go out to her kith and kin,” write Cradle of Filth on Instagram (see post below).

Chicago police union boss tells cops to defy COVID-19 vaccine mandate

A Chicago police union boss told cops to defy the city’s upcoming COVID-19 vaccination reporting mandate.

Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara said Tuesday he would take Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s administration to court if it enforced a directive ordering city workers to report their vaccination status by Friday.

Under the order, unvaccinated municipal workers who don’t submit to regular COVID-19 tests would be placed on unpaid leave.

Chicago has the nation’s second-largest police department, consisting of about 13,000 cops, many of whom would not comply with the mandate, Catanzara threatened in an online video.

“It’s safe to say that the city of Chicago will have a police force at 50% or less for this weekend coming up,” the labor leader said.

Catanzara instructed his members to file for exemptions to receiving the vaccine, but not inform the city, in the clip.

“I do not believe the city has the authority to mandate that to anybody, let alone that information about your medical history,” he said.

On Wednesday, Lightfoot promoted the vaccines as safe and effective and accused Catanzara of making statements that were “untrue or patently false.”

“What we’re focused on is making sure that we maximize the opportunity to create a very safe workplace,” the Democrat said.

“The data is very clear. It is unfortunate that the FOP leadership has chosen to put out a counter narrative. But the fact of the matter is, if you are not vaccinated, you are playing with your life, the life of your family, the life of your colleagues and members of the public.”

In August, Catanzara likened the mandate to the Holocaust before later apologizing.

“This ain’t Nazi … Germany (saying) ‘Step into the … showers, the pills won’t hurt you,’” he told the Chicago Sun Times.

The discord comes as the Second City continues to grapple with a rise in violent crime. Cops had reported 629 homicides this year through early October, a 56 percent increase from two years ago.

Four members of the CPD have died from the virus, including Dean Angelo, who preceded Catanzara as union boss. The 67-year-old lost his battle with COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Former U.S. president Bill Clinton hospitalized in California with infection

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has spent the past two days in a California hospital due to an infection, his spokesperson said Thursday.

Clinton, 75, was admitted to the University of California Irvine Medical Center for a “non-COVID-related infection” Tuesday evening, according to a statement from his spokesperson Angel Ureña.

“He is on the mend, in good spirits, and is incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses and staff providing him with excellent care,” Ureña said.

A separate statement from Clinton’s physicians, provided by Ureña, said he was administered IV antibiotics and fluids. His white blood cell count is trending down after two days of treatment, they added, saying he responded well to the antibiotics.

Clinton will remain in hospital for continuous monitoring, the doctors said.

“We hope to have him go home soon,” the joint statement from Drs. Alpesh Amin and Lisa Bardack said.

CNN reported that Clinton was in the intensive care unit, primarily to give him privacy, and he was not on a breathing machine, according to doctors treating the former president.

His condition is not related to his previous heart problems or COVID-19, CNN said.

In the years since Clinton left the White House in 2001, the former president has faced health scares. In 2004, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery after experiencing prolonged chest pains and shortness of breath. He returned to the hospital for surgery for a partially collapsed lung in 2005, and in 2010 had a pair of stents implanted in a coronary artery.

He responded by embracing a largely vegan diet that saw him lose weight and report improved health.

He repeatedly returned to the stump, campaigning for Democratic candidates, mostly notably his wife, Hillary, during her failed 2008 bid for the presidential nomination. And in 2016, as his wife sought the White House as the Democratic nominee, Clinton — by then a grandfather and nearing 70 — returned to the campaign trail.

A spokesman for the Clinton Foundation said the former president was in the Los Angeles area for private events related to his charitable organization.

The UCI Medical Center is in Orange County, about 64 kilometres southeast of Los Angeles.

Mark Harmon’s Sons Meet TheHandsome Kids Of The ‘NCIS’ Star

NCIS viewers were given a shocking surprise at the end of Monday’s episode. Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Mark Harmon since the character’s introduction on JAG in 2003, announced that he wouldn’t be returning to law enforcement after traveling to Alaska to solve a case involving a contract killer. “I’m not going back,” Gibbs told his partner, Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). Gibbs said he found a “sense of peace” in Alaska, one he hasn’t felt since the death of his first wife Shannon (Darby Stanchfield) and daughter Kelly (Mary Mouser), per Deadline. When McGee asked what Gibbs hoped to find in Alaska, he said, “I don’t know. My gut’s telling me I’ll know when I find it.”

The episode (1904 “Great Wide Open”) was Mark Harmon’s last as a series regular. He signed a deal to continue with NCIS for its 19th season – on which he will remain an executive producer – but that would be in a limited capacity, per The Hollywood Reporter. This does mean that Agent Gibbs might return in the future. “As an executive producer and dear friend, Mark continues to be an integral part of the fabric of the show,” executive producer and showrunner Steven D. Binder said in a statement. “So regarding the future of Gibbs, as long-time fans of the show may have noticed over the years … never count Leroy Jethro Gibbs out.”

With Mark now free from his on-camera duties as Agent Gibbs, he now has time to spend with his family. Since 1987, Mark has been married to actress Pam Dawber – best known for her role as Mindy on Mork & Mindy, as well as her extensive film and voice work — and the two have two sons together. Sean Harmon

Sean Harmon was born on April 25, 1988, in Burbank, California. Like his father, Sean is an actor. He’s appeared in TV series like The Ultimate Evil, Major Crimes, and films like The Fits and Hold On. He has also worked as a stunt double and stunt coordination in a handful of productions, including Dumb and Dumber to, American Reunion, and more.

As of 2021, his best role is – oddly enough – that of playing Young Leroy Gibbs on NCIS. Sean portrayed a younger version of his father’s character on seven episodes of the show. “I always think back to the first time they talked about doing a young Gibbs thing here, and Sean was just out of school at that point,” Mark told Entertainment Tonight. “A director named Tony Wharmby said, ‘Can he come in and read?’ And on his own, he did, and I’m proud of him [for] taking his work seriously and how he approaches being an actor — not just on this show, [but] just what he has chosen to try to do in his life’s work.”

Mark also discussed Pam’s reaction to Sean in pursuing a career in acting. “More than anything, she’s a mom, and there’s a pride there involved in that. Separate from anything as an actor, you hopefully take pride in who people are individually away from any camera just as people, as citizens,” he said. “And both our boys have done well and hopefully made smart choices and are doing well daily, you know? Day by day, we have a lot of reasons to be proud of both of them, and this is part of that.”

Ty Harmon

Ty Harmon was born on June 25, 1992. While Sean has followed his parents into a career in front of the camera, it appears that Ty’s interests – at least with Hollywood – are more behind the scenes. Ty has an IMDB page that lists that he’s worked as a screenwriter on a film short, Catholic Schoolgirl Chainsaw Showdown. Ty, like his parents, seems to enjoy a life out of the spotlight because there’s not much else known about him. It seems he takes after his mother, in that sense.

“I was in a number one show. I had my own deal. I got to do Broadway. I got to do musical theater. I got to do cartoon voices,” Pam Dawber said in a 2016 interview. “I did everything you can do in this business, and then I had children, and it’s like, ‘I’m not going to chase this fame thing.’ “I wanted to drive my kids to school. I wanted to be there for their birthdays and bring cupcakes and donuts and do the school festivals and all that, and I did. I got to teach in their art class, and so it was a different life then, and I was very happy to do it.”

“Notice you don’t see us in the magazines,” she added. “When you’re married, that’s real life. And to go and plaster your kids… I’m sorry. I’m not for that.”

“I’m proud of both our boys, and they work hard at what they do,” said Mark during that Entertainment Tonight interview, “and I’m proud that they get up in the morning and try to do that every day.”

‘Chucky’s Real-Life Mom-Daughter DuoReveal Their Characters ‘Hate’ EachOther & More

It’s not every day that actors get to work with their parents on screen, but when they do, it’s a real treat. Barbara Alyn Woods and Alyvia Alyn Lind play mother-daughter duo Michelle and Lexy in the new TV series Chucky, which premieres October 12. For the real-life mom and daughter, Chucky was a chance to explore a relationship that’s completely opposite of the one they have in real life.

“It was mostly fun for me because we’re not just mother and daughter, we’re horrible to each other,” Alyvia admitted. “She hates me and I hate her 10 times more in the show, and it’s so much fun to get to play that storyline. We had so much fun with it. She is just such a horrible mayor mother.”

Barbara noted that she and Alyvia had to quarantine together while working on the show. “We’re working in Toronto in the thick of it and you know, so she couldn’t have her weekend dates or going out with her friends or anything. It’s pretty much the two of us and our small pod,” Barbara said. “Once in a while, friends could come over but it was mostly just the two of us. I’m also her homeschool teacher. We work on auditions together. And now on top of everything, I’m going to be in all of her scenes with her. It’s like, I’m sorry, there’s so much of me it’s like overkill. I guess for Don it was a little bit taking a chance. You never know how the chemistry is going to be.”

In the series, Lexy is Jake’s “primary bully.” When Jack gets a hold of the Chucky doll, things begin to take a dark turn in the town of Hackensack.

“She kind of picks on him [Jake] because I think she sees him as an easy target,” Alyvia teased. “He’s not popular. He’s an artist. He’s a little weird. He doesn’t have many friends. And then she sees that finally he has made one friend, but it’s another doll. She uses Chucky as just another way to make fun of him, which was the biggest mistake she’s ever made. One of the things I love about Chucky is he protects the people that he is closest to. He really protects them and he does anything to protect them, including murder. So when Chucky sees that Lexy is not the nicest to Jake, he definitely wants revenge.”

But don’t write off Lexy. “Don makes the most unredeemable characters redeemable, so you just have to wait and see how their relationship evolves,” Alyvia noted of Lexy and Jake’s relationship.

As for Mayor Michelle, Barbara said that her character is just trying to stay one step ahead of the chaos. Playing a mayor also brings everything full circle for Barbara back to her One Tree Hill days. Barbara notably starred as Deb Scott, Nathan’s mom and Dan’s wife, in the series.

“It’s really all about the image, right? I love Michelle because she does it all. She just does some things better than others,” Barbara told HollywoodLife. “And we find that she is a full-time mayor and a very part-time mother, which is possibly why this one [Lexy] is the way she is. But I do have to say I love saying that I’m playing the mayor because I was on a show for many years where I was the wife of the mayor. I didn’t run for mayor, but my husband was mayor.”

Alyvia admitted that she’s “never played” a character like Lexy before. Even though Lexy and Michelle don’t like each other, it doesn’t mean this mother and daughter don’t have similar qualities. “Lexy has a pretty great arc and the whole series she starts off as this narcissistic, power-hungry, just like her mom, and she’s very fashion-forward and just overall your perfect classic mean girl,” Alyvia said. “But as the series goes on, she starts caring about other people and really trying to get to the bottom of this whole mystery and you kind of see that she actually has a very small heart of gold. So playing that whole storyline, the whole arc was so great. I think Don did an amazing job at writing her and every little detail.”

Since this is a Chucky TV series we’re talking about, which means we’re dealing with that infamous killer doll, you can expect some bloodshed. “I think the show is not for the weak of heart,” Barbara said.

Alyvia added, “One of the things I love about the series is that we have so much more time. It’s not just an hour and a half movie. It’s a full 8-episode series to develop these characters, and it’s not just all about Chucky running around and killing people. We actually get to see the depth behind each and every one of these characters. We get to see so much. There’s a lot of blood, but there’s also a lot of heart.” Chucky will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on USA Network.

In a behind-the-scenes video before the live show, The Miz revealed just how he became the Genie. The transformation process started with The Miz getting his bald camp and prosthetic ears, followed by blue paint. Then things got very intense.

After he got the base blue makeup on, the makeup artists sprayed even more blue paint on The Miz. He took it all in stride. He also had deeper blue eye makeup put on his face as well. The Miz completed his Genie look with velvet harem pants, a red cummerbund, gold bracelets, a goatee, and a tiny ponytail.

The Miz and DWTS partner Witney Carson danced the quickstep to “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin. They got a 31 out of 40 from the judges. Before their performance, The Miz and Witney took a trip to Disneyland to get some inspiration. At the end of Disney Heroes Night, The Miz and Melanie C both got a 31 out of 40.

Host Tyra Banks surprised the pairs by revealing at the end of the night that no one was getting eliminated on Disney Heroes Night. Jimmie Allen and Emma Slater were awarded two extra points by winning the Mickey Dance Challenge, moving them up the leaderboard. Melora Hardin and Artem Chigvintsev were at the top of the leaderboard after getting all 9s from the judges.

The Miz and Witney will dance again on Disney Villains Night, which is set to air on October 12. They will be dancing the Argentine tango to “Be Prepared” from The Lion King.

Along with Ella, John is also dad to Benjamin, 10, with his late wife, who died in July 2020 at the age of 57 after a two-year battle with breast cancer. They also shared the late Jett, who died at the age of 16 in 2009. Their eldest son, who had autism, passed after he suffered a seizure at the family’s vacation home.

The sweet tributes come after John opened up about his longtime wife’s passing in a candid conversation with Kevin Hart in his Peacock series Hart to Heart in August. The Pulp Fiction star recounted a discussion he had with his son Benjamin about mortality following Kelly’s death, revealing that his son had told him that “because mom passed away, I’m afraid you’re going to.”

“I said, ‘Well it’s a very different thing.’ And then I went through the differences about my longevity and in her limited life,” John told the comedian, explaining that he told his son that death is a part of life. “Nobody knows when they’re going to go or when they’re going to stay. At the festival, Miley performed alongside Megan Thee Stallion.
